Menopause; Menopause marks the end of a woman’s reproductive years, typically occurring between ages 45–55. It’s diagnosed after 12 consecutive months without a menstrual period and is caused by a natural decline in Oestrogen and progesterone production by the ovaries.
Some women may wish to start Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), which involves taking Oestrogen (often with progesterone) to relieve menopausal symptoms. It can be systemic (pills, patches, gels) or local (vaginal creams, rings) depending on symptoms.
Please book an consultation if you would like advice and help with menopause, whether to start HRT, if you are suffering from premature menopause, to continue existing medication or to change your HRT formulation. Please ensure you have your blood pressure and weight ( you can get this done at your local pharmacy or GP practice) for the consultation as this is required for us to issue HRT.
