The following are typical signs and symptoms:

Bad breath
Flu like symptoms like tiredness, fever, headache, earache and coughing.

Treatment

How to treat tonsillitis yourself:

Gargle with warm salt water
Rest
Pain relief e.g. paracetamol and ibuprofen.

Symptoms usually resolve after a few days.
